Autodesk Research Connections is a speaker series featuring industry leaders exploring the new possible in the fields of architecture, engineering, and construction; media and entertainment; manufacturing; and more.

Designing Regenerative Materials for Prototyping with Local Waste
This installment of our Research Connections Speaker Series focused on how Mycelium, the vegetative part of fungi, can be used to create sustainable materials from local waste streams. Arvind Bhallamudi, a Master’s graduate of industrial and product design from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), demonstrates how a material microsystem can improve material utilization and minimize environmental impact.

Watch the video to learn about how mycelium materials are versatile, sustainable, and offer new ways to design for architecture, engineering, and construction. This exciting talk highlights the relationships being built across Autodesk’s teams and the innovative work happening in the industries they serve.
