Biography

 

Theo Stergiou has over a decade of experience spanning the civil and aerospace sectors, developing multidisciplinary expertise that bridges materials science, computational mechanics, and process optimization. He holds a PhD in Mechanics of Materials with a focus on terminal ballistics, where his research advanced the understanding of impact and energy absorption in metallic and polymeric systems through a combination of experimentation and high-fidelity simulation that led to numerous publications.

Early in his career, he contributed to large-scale infrastructure projects in the civil and construction industries, focusing on structural integrity assessment and applied engineering design within a fast-paced consulting environment. He later transitioned into aerospace, leading projects in material development, structural analysis, and optimization of high-performance components under extreme loading conditions. His work has produced measurable industrial impact, including contributions to F-35 production line optimization in Garden Grove, Airbus A320 window structural improvements, and Leonardo helicopter transparency systems, among other research initiatives.

A Six Sigma–certified researcher, Theo combines data-centric manufacturing know-how, advanced machine learning methodologies, and simulation-driven analysis to enhance manufacturing output quality, product reliability, and design robustness. His background in mechanics, AI, and material processing enables him to deliver innovative, scalable solutions across diverse engineering domains.
