Biography

Pavel Babikov is a Senior Principal Research Scientist on Numerical Analysis and High Performance Computing. Pavel’s research focuses on numerical analysis, mathematical models and large-scale physics simulation for engineering. Prior to Autodesk Pavel worked as a consultant for a variety of engineering simulation technology software companies, and his numerical codes for Computational Fluid Dynamics simulation have been used in high profile products including MacNeal-Schwendler Corporation’s MSC/NASTRAN.
Previously he held the position of Lead Research Scientist at the Central Moscow Aero-Hydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI), where he developed a variety of numerical methods for large scale computer modelling related to finite differences, finite elements, projective approximations, adaptive grids, sparse matrix technologies, linear and superlinear iterative procedures, multidimensional smoothing splines and geometrical modelling.
Pavel received his PhD in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the Central Moscow Aero-Hydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI). His career also includes teaching and supervisory experiences at TsAGI and at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), the “Russian MI”.
