Biography
Noa Kaplan is a Principal Research & Design Engineer at Autodesk, where she leads efforts to develop scalable systems for capturing and curating high-quality motion data. Her work supports emerging Media & Entertainment research in generative motion. Noa holds degrees from Yale, UCLA, and USC, where she earned her PhD as an Annenberg Fellow. Her doctoral research focused on the technological ethics of 3D capture, reconstruction, and generation—grounding her current efforts in a strong commitment to responsible innovation.
Noa is also a designer and artist—she has exhibited work at SIGGRAPH, Ars Electronica, the Geneva International Film Festival, the Hammer Museum, and the Getty. She has participated in residencies and fellowships at IDEO, Autodesk, and Eyeo, and her work has been featured in Wired Magazine, Discovery VR, AEC Magazine, Business Insider, and the Huffington Post. Prior to joining Autodesk, Noa taught at UCLA, where she helped shape emerging media and design curricula at the intersection of art, ethics, and technology.
