Biography

Klaus Gibbe is a Principal Research Engineer at Autodesk Research and is part of the Manufacturing Industry Futures team. He has a degree in communications engineering and computer science. He is based in Germany and has worked for many years in custom software development for technical applications.

When he joined the Autodesk Advanced Consulting Team (AAC) in 2016, he also handled customer projects in the area of manufacturing and inspection. The application “ClayMilling” is one successful result from this time. Since the AAC team has been merged into the Research team, he has been working on projects to automate systems, processes, and cross-platform workflows in manufacturing industry, as well as a Lifecycle Digital Twin for the Design-Make-Use Process. He contributed to the development of “Autodesk Machine Control Framework” and, since 2022, his focus has also been on the data working group of an M&E project.

He likes science fiction themes, like Star Wars, more than Star Trek. Traveling through rough landscapes and working with people who say what they think and do what they say is what he likes the most.
