Biography

Gonzalo Martinez, Senior Director, Industry Futures Autodesk Research, is responsible for industry research and technology strategies which play a major role in influencing the direction of Autodesk. He oversees the Autodesk Industry Future teams and experts, who are responsible for exploring the future of architecture, engineering, construction, and manufacturing, as well as media & entertainment. Gonzalo drives several collaborations, including partnerships with customers, academic research teams, and national laboratories like the Oak Ridge National Labs Manufacturing Demonstration Facility. In his capacity Gonzalo provides guidance to senior management and executives on advanced technology developments for these key industries.

Gonzalo started with Autodesk in 1991 and has held key positions in the areas of research, software development, and executive sales. Gonzalo is based at Autodesk’s headquarters in San Francisco.

Gonzalo holds a Manufacturing Engineering degree from Boston University with a specialization in CAD/CAM/CAE, with several advanced manufacturing patents. Gonzalo also holds FAA commercial certificates for flying helicopters and UAVS, and has completed several 3D printing experiments at zero G with NASA.
