Biography

Dr. Ed Tlegenov leads a world-class team of researchers and engineers at Autodesk, who are creating ideas, developing software and hardware prototypes, and converting R&D outcomes into software products that impact one billion customers. His team works in the areas of Digital Twins, Artificial Intelligence, Industrial Metaverse, and Design & Manufacturing on the Cloud. Ed has led several technology and product transformation efforts at Autodesk. Most recently he led the development of Autodesk’s Digital Twin competency through the productization of the Digital Twin capabilities in Fusion 360 and Autodesk Platform Services (APS). Prior to that Ed led R&D teams on next-generation human-machine interactions at the University of Cambridge. Furthermore, he also created the world’s first nano-precision bioprinter to 3D print self-healing artificial skins and artificial peripheral nervous systems.

Ed has a background in robotics, machine learning, immersive technologies, and bioengineering. He holds a PhD in Mechatronics from the National University of Singapore. Ed has also won numerous international awards that recognized his work, including the prestigious Forbes Top 30 Under 30: Science and Technology award in 2019.
