Our Research Connections series highlights design and make work in the industries Autodesk serves. In this talk, hear from Noel Joyce, Assistant Arts Professor of Interactive Media Business (IMB) at NYU Shanghai. Joyce is an industrial design specialist with experience running his own startups and working with hundreds of hardware startups in a VC funded accelerator.

As a wheelchair user, he has a keen interest in creating products and experiences that enable and benefit people regardless of ability. Noel’s main area of focus is human interaction with the physical world and product experiences that connect his research interests. The presentation will center around projects and the stories behind them, which drive new ideas in innovation. Projects range from Open Source Adaptive Mountain Bikes to designing empathy tools to help us understand the emotional elements of living with disabilities.
