Biography

Bon Adriel Aseniero is a multi-disciplinary information designer, computer scientist, and visual artist, based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They are a Principal Research Scientist at Autodesk and their research interests lie at the intersection of Information Visualization and Human-Computer Interaction, particularly in exploring how delightful visualizations can engage and support designers in designing sustainable and livable spaces.

They obtained a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Calgary, for which their thesis, “An Autobiographical Reflection on Designing Visualizations for Personal Contexts,” received an honorable mention from the IEEE VGTC VIS doctoral dissertation award for 2022. Their work has also received recognition in the form of scholarship awards including the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada Doctoral Scholarship (NSERC PGS) and the Alberta Innovates Technology Futures Award (AITF), and they have previously collaborated with institutions such as the Canada Energy Regulator (CER), World Health Organization (WHO), and Nokia-Bell Labs.

In their spare time, Bon enjoys photography (film and digital), drawing and illustration, painting, online gaming, and exploring new places.
