Ideas in Motion: Autodesk Research at SIGGRAPH 2026
Questions the Media & Entertainment Research team are asking this year
What happens when AI becomes part of the creative process, and not just another tool? How can creators move seamlessly from story to screen without losing the decisions that make their work unique? And what might the next generation of animation and storytelling look like?
This year, we’re excited to return to SIGGRAPH with a collection of demonstrations and conversations exploring how emerging technologies can better support creative work.
Throughout the conference, visitors will have the opportunity to see research prototypes that explore these ideas in action. You’ll get an early look at projects investigating the future of story development, motion generation, world building, and creative collaboration, while meeting the researchers and engineers behind the work.
One of these demonstrations is StoryArc, a research prototype that examines how story, script, storyboards, 3D scenes, and previs can remain connected as creative ideas evolve, helping preserve narrative intent across the pre-production process.
SIGGRAPH is also an opportunity to look beyond individual technologies and engage in broader conversations about where the industry is headed. Throughout the week, Autodesk researchers will join customers, partners, and industry leaders to discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of media and entertainment.
If you’re browsing the show floor, we invite you to visit Booth #629 to experience Autodesk Research demos of StoryArc, connect with our researchers, and explore the ideas driving our latest work. You can also step inside a modern studio pipeline and see live demos of the latest AI-powered tools in Maya, Flow Studio, and collaborative cloud workflows.
And don’t miss the Autodesk Vision Series, featuring industry artists in animation, visual effects, and games discussing how they created their dream projects. Whether you’re interested in AI, animation, storytelling, or the evolution of creative pipelines, these sessions offer an opportunity to hear from the people helping shape what’s next.
We can’t wait to see you at SIGGRAPH 2026!
