Yesterday’s industry keynotes at AU 2025, Autodesk’s Design and Make conference, took a deeper look at news announced at the event. With AI innovations continuing to dominate, Autodesk leaders shared how AI is continuing to shape and influence key industries, including:

Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations

  • Autodesk Forma: The first end-to-end, cloud-based, AI-native platform built for architects, engineers, contractors, and owners and the industry’s first truly unified environment for planning, designing, building, and operating.
  • Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and Forma: Moving closer to full industry cloud vision by bringing ACC into Forma and uniting design and make, moving from files to granular data, and breaking down silos to enable hyper-collaboration.
  • Forma Building Design: Empowers everyone from project leaders to CAD and BIM architects to create detailed building models with speed and precision.

Design and Manufacturing

  • Generative AI-powered Editable Geometry in Fusion: Autodesk is developing editable boundary representation (BREP) geometry in Fusion, powered by proprietary foundation models, which allows users to generate detailed and editable CAD outputs from a single prompt, accelerating the design process.
  • Autodesk Assistant: This agentic AI partner is embedded across products like Fusion and Vault, automating tasks such as sketch constraints, manufacturing toolpaths, natural-language search, updating drawings, and integrating with PLM workflows.
  • Collaboration with Microsoft: The collaboration integrates Microsoft’s AI services into Fusion to generate photorealistic images and convert designs into Microsoft 365 formats, enhancing creative workflows.

Media and Entertainment

  • Reducing Creative Drudgery: Integrating AI to automate repetitive tasks in digital content creation, like scene lighting and facial animation, to enhance creative workflows.
  • Autodesk Flow Studio: Flow Studio democratizes professional-grade VFX and animation tools using AI to automate tasks, making them accessible to more creators.
  • Unifying Production Lifecycle: Autodesk Flow connects teams, tools, and data across the pipeline, with new features like Shared Playlists for unified reviews and integrations with Avid Media Composer for streamlined editorial workflows.

Autodesk Research continues to highlight our team’s work in the Research Zone, including:

  • A detailed exhibit highlighting new AI technology developed by Autodesk Research to make it easier and faster to reuse existing buildings to reduce carbon emissions.
  • An overview of how Autodesk Research is redefining product design with performance-aided design by integrating real-world performance data into cloud-based digital twin workflows. See the resulting modular flying vehicle designed with Autodesk Fusion and built across the Autodesk Technology Centers.
  • A research game experience that explores the world of design and make.

Today is the final day of AU. If you’re in Nashville, stop by the Research Zone to check out the exhibits or play our game. If you’re following along online, stay tuned for more news and updates from AU!
