Connect with our Research Connections: Using AI to Digitize AEC Data
From Raw P&IDs to Queryable Knowledge Graphs
Our Research Connections series highlights design and make work in the industries Autodesk serves. Hear from Mohit Gupta, Ph.D. candidate in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Arizona State University, as he explores how to transform static Piping and Instrumentation (P&IDs) diagrams into knowledge graphs using AI.
Engineering drawings, especially P&IDs, serve as a crucial communication tool in architecture, engineering, and construction industries. These drawings contain rich, visual information that often requires domain expertise for proper interpretation.
In this talk, Mohit explores the process of digitizing legacy engineering drawings, focusing on converting them into queryable knowledge graphs. The goal is to make this visual information not only interpretable but also accessible for analysis, enabling better decision-making and automated processes in the AEC industry.
