Biography

Mehran Ebrahimi is a Principal Research Scientist on the Simulation, Optimization, and Systems team at Autodesk Research in Toronto. He holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Toronto in the field of computational solid mechanics, and is currently pursuing his PhD part-time at the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies. His research interests include computational physics, numerical analysis, computational optimization, reduced-order modeling, and physics-informed machine learning. Mehran has several patents and publications in top-tier peer-reviewed engineering journals and scientific conferences. During his years at Autodesk Research, he has made important contributions to several projects including DreamCatcher, Barc, FibraGen, Momentum, Apple-tree, Configuration Design, and Arc. In his spare time, he enjoys reading books, watching movies, and hanging out with friends. Depending on his mood, sometimes he grabs his camera and captures a few shots.
