Biography
Sachin Chitta is currently the Director of Robotics Research at Autodesk. He leads a team of fantastic researchers building flexible and adaptive robotic assembly systems for manufacturing and construction. He was Founder & CEO at Kinema Systems which he sold to Boston Dynamics in 2019. Kinema built the world’s first deep-learning based solution for robotic depalletizing for logistics. Prior to that, he built software for a new surgical robot at SRI.
He started his professional career at Willow Garage, building the most used open-source packages for robotic manipulation (MoveIt! and ROS-Control). Sachin enjoys building cutting-edge robotics, computer vision, and deep-learning based solutions for tasks that have not been automated yet.
