Biography

Nathan Kutz is Director of the physics informed AI group working out of the Autodesk London office. After 28 years as a faculty member at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he also founded and directed the AI Institute in Dynamic Systems over the past five years, he joined Autodesk to bring his expertise in data-driven modeling to engineering design. Nathan is especially interested in closing the gap between reality and simulations in order to produce trustworthy physics-based models for science and engineering. Using the diversity of tools being developed for modern machine learning and AI, the physics informed AI group’s goals are to provide algorithms constrained by physics in order to produce software capable of enhancing the generative design capabilities and digital twin accuracy of Autodesk products.
